GENERAL INFORMATION OF THE SCHOOL
Navy Children School (NCS POR) is a co-educational Schoolhaving classes from Kindergarten to Std IX. It is located in INS SardarPatel, Porbandar. The School was commissioned on 14 Jan 16 by ViceAdmiral SPS Cheema, PVSM, AVSM, NM, ADC, Flag OfficerCommanding-in-Chief Western Naval Command. It is run by the NavyEducation Society (NES) and administered by INS SardarPatel. Itfollows the CBSE curriculum. The motto of NES is:(Knowledge is the only Good)
1. Aim: The Navy Children school aims at the overall developmentof each student’spersonality, laying emphasis on the inculcationof rational outlook. The school endeavors to achieve academicexcellence amongst the students and the development of aninsatiable thirst for knowledge. It also aims at promoting basic human values of life.
2. Academic Session: The academic session of the schoolcommences on the first working day of April and ends on the lastworking day of March.
3. Syllabus and Medium: The Medium of instruction is English.The syllabus of NCS will be the same as laid down by the CBSEand adopted by NES.
4. Co-Curricular and Extra Curricular Activities: The schoolorganizes Club Activities, Cultural Shows, Educational Trips etc.apart from providing opportunities for Elocution, Debates, Quiz,Olympiads, Music, Recitation and a host of other activities.
(a) House System :The school follows a House System aimed at fostering team spirit and healthy competition among students. The students are divided into four Houses. Each House isheaded by aCaptain and Vice-Captain, and a member of the teachingstaff acts as the House Mistress / House Master.
(b) Activity clubs :In order to enhance the potential and abilities of the students, the school has instituted several activity clubs. These clubs, of the student's choice, give
impetus to different co-scholastic activities and also provide outlet to the children to express their creativity.
5. Visits and Excursions :The School encourages educational visits, picnics and excursions for all classes. These activities, under the subtle supervision of the staff,
train students to gain confidence and acquire life skills.
6. Computer Education : It is taught in all classes from Std I to IX. The stress is on practical usage of computers.
7. Games :The school provides various sports facilities for playing basketball, football, cricket, handball etc
